143Year Old Memphis Firm Gets New Home

Building signage 002 (Large).jpg

We have all heard the old adage....Who is the last person to get their house painted?

Of course, a painter.

Who is the last person to get a new roof?  A roofer.

We could go on and on.

So, when it was time to consider negotiating terms for another lease, the owners of Marx-Bensdorf, REALTORS started discussing the possibility of a move.

What? Why in the world would a 143 year old real estate firm consider moving after being in the same prime East Memphis location for almost years?

Some folks thought we were crazy.  After all, everyone else is cutting back or closing offices.

Not us!

After nine months of serious searching and negotiating, it was decided.  Marx-Bensdorf, REALTORS was going to move.

A completely renovated space with high ceilings, state of the art technology and new furniture.

Our vintage office furniture made a move, too.  SRVS, a local non-profit dedicated to employing adults with learning disabilities was in dire need of office furniture.  Now, these adults can work productively with our gift of desks, chairs and file cabinets.

On September 11, 2011, our office closed its doors and moved to our new home.

New office, new look!  Happy agents!

Come see us, soon!

"Early childhood education is critical for kids.  We need to equip them with the tools to start off the school year", said Jim Black, co-owner of Marx-Bensdorf, REALTORS and former Memphis City school principal.

"Through generous donations from agents, clients and vendors, we were able to fill 120 backpacks for kids.  We are hoping that this story will inspire other business' to get involved with schools".
